9th Annual Gig Harbor Drive


 To continue the tradition Jim Boyde will be leading the drive. 
 
 Please bring a FRS radio if you have one.
 
We will meet at Gateway Park just west of Purdy on Hwy 302 at around 8am.  After a short driver's meeting, we will depart on the drive at 8:30
 
The drive will head west on Hwy 302 to Hwy 3 through Belfair and along the north shore of Hood Canal to our first stop at Dewatto River Campground.

After a short rest stop we will head up Dewatto Bay Rd to the challenging Bear Creek-Dewatto Rd, then continue our journey north passing several lakes on our way to our second stop at Kitsap Memorial State Park.
 
 
 
We then head across the Hood Canal bridge on Hwy. 104 to South Point Rd and tour some nice back roads, through the town of Quilcene,  on our way to the lunch stop at Quilcene Campground.
 
After lunch we head back towards the bridge using a different route.


After crossing the bridge we will go through Port Gamble, down to Big Valley Road and back to Kitsap Memorial State Park for a rest stop.


Our route then back tracks over some of the roads we used in the morning, with a couple of changes, ending up at the Dairy Queen in Belfair, where we could enjoy some ice cream together before we all head home.


We will be using a state park for a couple of stops, so you will probably want to have a Discover Pass,  you never know when the ranger may check us.
