About this event
This amazing historic drive will start out in the parking lot of Safeway in Port Angeles. Driver meeting will be at 8:45 am and we will depart at 9:00 am. We will explore the best the straight has to offer as well admiring the Elwha River and Lake Crescent. Lunch will be at The Warehouse Restaurant in Neah Bay offering a beautiful view of the marina.
After Lunch the drive continues to most western end of the United States- Cape Flattery. We will be able to purchase a recreational permit for $20 that gives access for a year before entering the park either online at http://www.makah.com or at various locations in Neah Bay. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes for the trail is approximately ¾ a mile up and back. This is also the time of year the gray whales are seen migrating to their summer feeding grounds in Alaska.
From there will be heading down Hwy 112 stopping at 2 scenic points until we get back to Port Angeles. This drive will be experiencing some of my favorite twisted roads up and back!
