Let's Cruise Around Some Local Lakes!

In response to requests for drives that aren't on Saturday, this one will be on Sunday afternoon, September 14th.

We will meet at the Country Vista Apartments club house, located at 21200 E Country Vista Dr, Liberty Lake, WA 99019. Please arrive by 1:30 PM.

After a short driver's meeting, we will depart from the clubhouse parking lot at 2 PM. Our first leg will be along Henry Rd, south past the Saltese Uplands Conservation Area and the Eastern edge of Saltese Lake (which is primarily a dry lake in late fall), then up and over the view above the Saltese area on Quinimose Drive, and continuing through Liberty Lake and North on Harvard Rd.



At Euclid Rd,we will travel East and enjoy the curves and views as it becomes East River Rd. After a short jog Westward on Wellesley, the tour will run North on Starr Rd, across Trent/Hwy 290 toward NW Newman Lake Drive. We will circle the lake clock-wise, a twisty roadway with a lot of elevation changes and stunning scenery of the forest and lake.



At Hauser Lake Rd. we'll travel East into Idaho on E. Hauser Lake Rd and around the lake clock-wise (left on N. Hauser Lake Rd.). Note: E. Hauser Lake Rd is rough in places so this will be a slow and careful section.



After circling the lake and enjoying the beautiful views, we will backtrack on E. Hauser Lake Rd. and Muzzy Rd to NE Newman Lake Rd. This narrow roadway will be a slow drive through a small lakeside community. There is a public lake access area on this road where we will stop to stretch legs. After a 10-15 minute break, the drive will continue along the last portion of Newman Lake to Starr Rd. We'll follow Starr back South, across Trent to Wellesley. Here we will jog East to the Idaho state line, turning right and crossing under I-90 to drive East on Appleway.

At Molter Rd. the tour will go South through the tree-lined streets of Liberty Lake. At Sprague Rd, after a glimpse of Liberty Lake, we will jog West to S. Liberty Lake Rd. Here the tour turns left to backtrack over Quinimose Drive. After a brief jaunt on Henry Rd. again, we'll turn left on E. Saltese Lake Road. This entertaining and scenic section will continue along the South and West edges of Saltese Lake toward 32nd Avenue. Continuing West on 32nd, the final leg will be North on Sullivan Rd. to the parking lot at Roundtable Pizza where we can join together for a meal and debate which lake is best and which has the better road.

Approximate driving time is 2 hours, plus stops.
